The 23-year-old who went to West Virginia University was given the nod to start against the Dodgers at center field on Opening Day. He batted in the 8th spot.

Scott II was hitless in his three at bats Thursday, but did reach base on an error from Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts. Victor Scott II took full advantage of his base running skills and recorded his first stolen base in his MLB career.

Scott stole 107 bases in his minor league career, including 94 in 2023.

He will look to get his first hit on Friday night in game two of the series at Dodgers stadium.
